This is a fantasy tale between a goblin who needs a mortal bride to ends his immortal life, an amnesiac grim reaper who oversees the passing souls, and a human woman who is the goblin's bride and is actually destines to be killed.
In Goryeo Dynasty, Kim Shin is an unbeatable general in wars and popular, respected and admired by the people in the kingdom. Through the influence of Park Joong~heon, a cunning and manipulative eunuch, the King, who happens to be the husband of Kim Shin's younger sister, came to hate his brother-in-law thinking that he's a threat in the Royal Family and to the King's position.
After winning the straight 3 days war, Kim Shin and his battalion were welcomed with the King's Decree saying Kim Shin is a traitor and has to surrender and be killed. People who are related to him were killed including the battalion, the servants and even the queen who is his sister. He decided to take his life by piercing his own sword, which has killed thousands of lives, in to his heart in front of the young King in the palace.
Kim Shin became Dokkaebi (Goblin) which means he has an immortal life and has rather an honorable title of being Protector of Souls. At first he thought that he is blessed but witnessing how his loved ones die from time to time leaving him alone changed his view and realizes that he's cursed. For him to defeat immortality, he has to find and marry a human who is also destined to be a goblin's bride.
Kim Shin has been waiting for 900 years for his bride to end his immortal life. One night, he saves a dying pregnant woman who is destined to die. The grim reaper, who is going to take or guide the soul, is unable to find the dead pregnant woman.
The woman then gives birth to a baby girl named Ji Eun-tak. She was raised by her mother alone with utmost love and care. She is quirky yet cheerful girl and is able to see ghosts. When she was 9 years old, her mother died because of an accident. On that night, Ji Eun Tak met the Grim reaper who was searching for her for 9 years.
In the present day, Ji Euntak is already a high school student and still sees ghosts but she just keeps on pretending that she doesn't see them as what her late mother instructed her. The ghosts call her "Dokkaebi's bride". She's now staying with her aunt's family but she is mistreated by them. On her birthday, Ji Eun -Tak who was sitting by the sea with lighted cake, made a wish and blew the candle. Kim Shin suddenly appeared in front of her. Whenever she blows a candle, Kim Shin appears wherever she is against his will.
Meanwhile, due to some circumstances, the Amnesiac Grim Reaper who is the reincarnation of the late young king in Goryeo Dynasty happens to live in Kim Shin's house. As they have been living in the same roof, they managed to have a good relationship as the story goes on.
Sunny, the owner of the chicken shop where Ji Eun-tak is working as a part timer and is the reincarnation of Kim Shin's sister who is the late queen, falls in love with the Grim Reaper not knowing his real identity.
As the story goes on, Kim Shin and Eun-Tak falls in love with each other. But Park Joong~heon's spirit is lurking and is planning to harm Sunny and Kill Euntak. And the only way to stop and kill the spirit is to use Kim Shin's sword which is pierced in his chest...Will Eun-Tak draw the sword from his chest knowing that he will die and will never come back again into her arms?..Will Kim Shin still support the Grim Reaper with his relationship with Sunny, who is his sister,knowing that he is the late King's reincarnation?....

Ji Eun-Tak
An Optimistic and bubbly high school student who is labeled as missing soul that the grim reaper is after, and the legendary Goblin's bride. She was born by the Goblin's mercy when the Goblin saved her mother from dying while she was pregnant with her. Because of that incident, a mark was left in her back which signifies that she is destined to be the Goblin's wife. She has the ability to see and speak to dead spirits, and can summon the Goblin by blowing any lighted candles. She can also teleport through doors with the Goblin and isn't affected by the Goblin's time freezing.
..Grim Reaper aka Wang Yeo
A good-looking 300 year old amnesiac Grime reaper who escorts souls of the dead to their afterlife. It is said that you become a GRIM REAPER once you have committed the greatest and heaviest sin, which is taking your own life in your past life, as a punishment. All grim reapers don't have memories of their past life. He is the reincarnation of Wang Yeo, the king in Goryeo Dynasty who ordered the killing of his brother-in-law, Kim Shin, for treason and sentenced his family and servants to death out of fear induced by his advisor.
Sunny aka Kim Sun
A bright and attractive owner of the chicken restaurant where Eun-tak is works as a part timer. She falls in love with the Grim Reaper the first they have met. She is the reincarnation of Kim Shin's sister, Kim Sun, who was queen and was killed by the King's order.
Yoo Deok-hwa
A rebellious but kind-hearted chaebol heir and the only grandson of the Yoo family. Yoo family has been serving the Goblin from generation to generation and knows the secret of Kim Shin. The Almighty borrowed his body to speak to Goblin and Grim Reaper.
